Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Excellent academic credentials
At least three years’ experience as a practicing attorney, including any judicial clerkships
Excellent writing, analytical, and people skills
Excellent judgment
Ability to work with, and to provide high quality legal advice and representation to House Members, committees, officers, and employees, without regard to political affiliation.
Appreciation of—or at least the desire to learn about and understand—the role and functioning of the Legislative Branch.
Preferred Qualifications :
Judicial clerkship or other government experience.
Experience drafting dispositive motions in federal district courts and / or briefs in federal courts of appeals.
Understanding of structure and operations of the Federal Government, particularly the House of Representatives and the Department of Justice.
