What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Chief Information Officer position at U.S. Legislative Branch?
This position is located in the Immediate Office, House Information Resources (HIR), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), U.S. House of Representatives (House).
Duties
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Preparation of directorate budgets and major hardware and resources procurements.
Application of systems engineering principles and objectives.
Communication with elected officials, senior staff, information systems professionals, and technical and non-technical users.

Qualifications
8 years of relevant experience.
Master’s Degree in Information Technology or associated discipline or equivalent senior level experience.
Knowledge of a wide range of technical and administrative areas.
Ability to recognize and deal with politically sensitive issues.
Knowledge of requirements definition and detailed design for Information Technology systems.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstration of HIR Technical Competencies : Analytics; Application Administration and Integration; Compliance, Internal Controls, and Audit Support; Consultation and Outreach; Contracting / Procurement; Emergency Response Planning and Risk Management; Financial Management; Information Management; Information Resources Strategy and Planning; Information Systems / Network Security; Knowledge of Emerging Trends and Industry Best Practices; Network Management; Project Management; and Quality Assurance and Testing.
Demonstration of general competencies : Accountability, Adaptability, Collaboration, Communication, Customer Orientation, Knowledge of Relevant Policies, Procedures, and Processes, Priority Management, and Problem Resolution.
Demonstration of leadership competencies for employees in leadership positions : Coalition Building, Decision-Making, Leading People, Results Orientation, and Strategic Planning.
