Summary You will serve as a PASSPORT SPECIALIST in the MARINE CORPS SECURITY FORCE REGIMENT of MARFORCOM NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will review documents and submit packages for Visas and personal passports and coordinate all travel documentation status of military, civilian personnel, family members and contractors on matters related to requirements for travel overseas. You will verify proof of citizenship for USMC Officers and Enlisted, DOD Civilians, DOD Contractors, and their families. You will research and provide advise / recommendations in regard to complex sensitive claims. You will research policy and regulatory material to determine requirements for unusual situations. You will adapt standard format letters in answering inquiries where judgment is required in selecting the pertinent information accompanying documents to immigration and naturalization services. You will examine applications and supporting documents for compliance, completeness, affirmation of truthfulness, presence of required entries, signature and photographs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : adjudicating applications for the purpose of processing a variety of Passport / Visa requests, providing guidance on adjudication of Passport / Visa issues AND reviewing cases where inconsistencies exist in documentation / information obtained and exercise authority to approve or disapprove requests. GS-09 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : assisting with adjudicating applications for the purpose of processing a variety of Passport / Visa requests, providing guidance on adjudication of Passport / Visa issues AND reviewing cases where inconsistencies exist in documentation / information obtained and exercise authority to approve or disapprove requests.
