Summary You will serve as a SUPRVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING) in the TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO. Responsibilities You will serve as a technical advisor on matters of immediate, mid, and long—term programs to improve IT operations throughout the region including development of specific and measurable Service Level Agreements. You will ensure operational services, and their performance are measured in a consistent, reportable manner and the service reports produced, meet the needs of the customers. You will coordinate operational matters with other organizations, adjacent and tenant commands. You will develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for the control and operation of services supported by the Base. You will develop and implement IT operations plans, programs and directives, establish formal procedures, process improvement and impact of IT operations. You will assist in the selection, training, and supervision of all staff members, performing the daily operational duties to meet reporting requirements. You will improve operations by streamlining processes supporting the organizations mission to improve management of resources, information flow, business processes and organizational planning. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : Developing / implementing IT operations plans, programs, directives for process improvement AND exhibiting expert planning, forecasting, problem-solving, analytical skills related to IT. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas : attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined : 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : Exhibit expert planning, forecasting, problem-solving and analytical skills as they relate to IT. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : have the ability to maintain effective public relations with all levels of customers and management. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of IT Support Services through improvements to each functional area as well as the coordination and communication between support and business stake holders. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include : Assess, prioritize and make logical decisions which are complicated by insufficient, conflicting or incorrect data.
