U.S. Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Personal Care Assistant with security and behavioral health experience to work as a Paraprofessional with elementary/middle/high school special needs students to work in a school setting. The Personal Care Assistant will work side by side with our clients while providing quality care tailored to our client’s needs.
Paraprofessional (Special Education)
Shift: Monday- Friday 7am-4pm (Varies by grade level)
Pay Rate: $19.50 per/hr.
Locations: West Chester, Pa

About the Role:
The Paraprofessional is a vital member of the school team that maintains a safe learning environment for students during instructional periods. Assists with instruction and lesson preparation duties related to the academic periods of the day. Supports and helps students adhere to appropriate behaviors. Implements established protocols for daily routines associated with the structure of the program.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with the teacher to plan instructional goals, objectives and methods.
- Prepares instructional materials and supplies for lessons.
- Assist teacher in providing one to one support for students.
- Work with the teacher to adhere to accommodations for each student commensurate with the student’s IEP.
- Assist teacher in keeping attendance and academic records.
- Assist teacher in maintaining an orderly instructional area.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining standards of pupil behavior necessary for effective functioning of classroom and school activities.
- Encourage and help maintain standards of school behavior with students during unstructured times throughout the school day.
- Support various operations of the program.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings, orientation meetings, and in-service programs.
- Be regular in attendance and punctual for school responsibilities.
Education, Training and Experience:
- Minimum 1 year experience working with at risk youth (Preferred)
- Behavioral Health Experience (Preferred)
- Experience working with School Special Needs Students (Preferred)
- FBI fingerprints
- Criminal background check
- Child abuse clearance
- Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion pertaining to the work environment and maintain all HIPAA requirements
