What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Store Clerk NF-02 position at U.S. Military Academy?
Duties
- Operates the point of sale terminal verifying that all merchandise is properly scanned, verifies retail price, verifies product information, processes proper type of sale, properly secures credit card information and delivers receipt to customer.
- Secures register funds daily, verifying all monies for the day and delivers cash to assigned terminal.
- Stocks and maintains sales floor according to daily sales plan. Stays current with merchandise assortment. Assists management with pricing when needed.
- Performs duties of repacking cartons, labeling cartons with proper counts, working with stock keeping units (SKU), and descriptions of merchandise for transfer to storage or other retail operations.
- Maintains housekeeping standards such as dusting, vacuuming, and taking out trash.
Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Medical examination is required.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop and reach with arms over head repeatedly and frequently lift and move 40 pounds.
- During special events at USMA, may be required to work outdoors to support retail operation under tents. Also, may be required work in non-air-conditioned spaces.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's permit.
- This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of a point of sale system is required to service patrons on a timely basis and to maintain correct inventory.
- Knowledge of exemplary customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic is required when receiving cash for sales and making change.

PCS Costs
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
- This is a pay-banded position.
- Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). - Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
- Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
