Duties
As an AUDIO VISUAL TECHNICIAN, you will:
- Work with curator and exhibit staff to determine needs for audio visual content, conduct research of a broad range of record material, contact other institutions for materials, arrange for programming of audiovisuals and script, and coordinate work by outside contractors involved in the production.
- Set up and operate audio-visual equipment needed for special programs being held in the Museum auditorium, galleries, and meeting facilities.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine repair on audio-visual equipment.
- Request and monitor service and maintenance of audio-visual equipment performed by contractors. Diagnose equipment malfunctions, failures, and operating problems and determine which contractor will perform necessary repair work.

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

- The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching and reaching. The work may also require lifting of moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
