Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.

The position requires approximately 20% travel to inspect and evaluate facilities and equipment, and provide training to staff at subordinate activities.
Expect travel to subordinate sites as necessary to assist with any issues impacting facilities repairs and/or planning meetings which pertain to MILCON, UMC or Special Projects.
Within 180 days of appointment, must attend at a minimum, and satisfactorily complete the following courses; Intro to NAVOSH (Ashore) A-493-0050 or online equivalent A-493-0550, and Introduction to Hazardous Materials (Ashore) A-493-0031.
Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.

- You will serve as a FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the SUPPLY DEPARTMENT (N4) of the NAVY REGION (NAVREG) SOUTHEAST RESERVE COMPONENT COMMAND (RCC) JACKSONVILLE located in JACKSONVILLE, FL.
- You will participate in planning and providing command oversight of construction projects and maintenance of numerous off-installation (stand-alone) and on installation facilities.
- You will coordinate facility programs and services efficiently.
- You will monitor, maintain documentation, and report the status of whole center repairs and all major construction projects to include design scope and budget.
- You will oversee and implement programs involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues.

- Experience applying a thorough knowledge of assigned facility structures and equipment design, operation, maintenance, and general construction regulations, policies, principles, practices, and requirements in order to recognize facility requirements and detect problems, convey needs, and negotiate action request and timeframes to responsible parties to ensure that needed repairs and replacements are obtained in a timely manner.
- Experience reviewing maintenance and construction projects in progress and upon completion for compliance with standards and specifications.
- Experience reviewing and understanding a variety of facility-related documents including maintenance/repair contracts, real estate instruments, inter-service support agreements and memorandums of understanding.
- Experience speaking formally and informally to individuals and groups, and communicating effectively through the use of written or transmitted correspondence.

- Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs.
- Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans.
- Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one- or two-story buildings to larger structures), directing actual work operations, and maintaining appropriate contacts with the organization funding the project.
