Your role in helping us shape the future:
We’re seeking a creative, motivated student journalist for a 10-week paid internship this summer. We want our intern to walk away with a rewarding, real-world newsroom experience, a pile of great clips and the skills necessary to join the next generation of journalists.
Specifically, we are looking for an inquisitive self-starter and nimble reporter who can produce compelling content for our digital platform. Interns should feel empowered to find and pitch great stories about our increasingly diverse topic areas.
We will provide a supportive and collaborative atmosphere with opportunities to explore reporting, including data reporting, writing and editing.

- Strong understanding of SEO and experience using SEO tools.
- Editing experience.

- Part-time or full-time students who have completed 48 credit hours (rising juniors/seniors and graduate students) and are enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
- Part-time or full-time students enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism and maturity in the workplace
- Effective communicator in both written and spoken English
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in use of MSOffice Suite and Google Docs
- 3.0 GPA or above preferred
- Demonstrated research, reporting, writing, editing and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
- Interest in writing about real estate, retirement, personal finance and careers.
- 10 weeks; starting on Monday, June 2 through Friday, Aug 8, 2025
- We expect interns to work 37.5 hours/week, Monday- Friday
- All candidates must be able to work a hybrid in-office work schedule from our Washington, DC office.
- Internship pays $17.50 per hour
