U.S. News and World Report is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Manager of Compliance to lead the compliance team overseeing editorial content and product pages for its personal finance portfolio (primarily credit card and lending affiliate programs). The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and scaling the compliance management program to ensure all editorial materials and product pages adhere to regulatory requirements, partner guidelines, and company policies. This role will provide leadership to a team of compliance specialists while driving efficiency, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in all compliance workflows related to editorial content and product offerings.

- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of compliance specialists focused on editorial content and product pages. Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment that emphasizes compliance excellence and continuous development.
- Content and Product Page Review & Approval: Oversee the review and approval process for editorial content and product pages promoting credit card and other financial offerings, ensuring that all materials comply with partner compliance policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
- Compliance Risk Management: Proactively identify compliance risks in editorial practices, content creation, and product page strategies. Recommend and implement solutions to mitigate risks while maintaining business effectiveness.
- Compliance Workflows and KPIs: Develop and manage compliance workflows specifically for editorial content and product pages. Establish and track relevant KPIs such as number of compliance requests submitted, time taken to resolve compliance requests, and number and types of content infractions and violations.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance Monitoring: Ensure high standards of quality assurance by overseeing the evaluation of compliance adherence across editorial content and product pages. Monitor the compliance specialists’ performance and ensure all content is in line with partner and regulatory requirements.
- Violation Identification and Remediation: Identify, document, and report any compliance findings and violations related to editorial content or product pages. Recommend and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to prevent future violations.
- Policy and Process Improvement: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies, processes, and tools specifically for editorial content and product page creation. Regularly evaluate these frameworks for effectiveness and update as needed to enhance governance and mitigate compliance risks.
- Compliance Training and Education: Develop training programs for internal teams and stakeholders (including product managers and content creators) on compliance best practices, ethical content creation, and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all teams involved in content production understand and follow compliance standards.
- Compliance Reporting and Accountability: Generate detailed reports on compliance trends, including the number of violations, compliance resolution timeframes, and overall compliance status. Present these insights to senior leadership to drive accountability and guide strategic decisions in content and product page development.
- Experience: Five years to eight years of compliance experience, including leadership in managing compliance for marketing and editorial content, preferably in financial services or credit card marketing.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Compliance, or related field.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge and understanding of key regulatory requirements, laws, and industry best practices (e.g., UDAAP, FCRA), affiliate marketing, and financial services compliance standards
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading compliance teams, developing effective compliance programs, and driving strategic initiatives.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex data, generate compliance reports, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate stakeholders at all levels of the organization on compliance topics.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a keen focus on compliance accuracy and continuous improvement.

- The base salary for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
