Summary You will serve as a Pipefitter in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will install, repair, modify, check, and test high temperature and high pressure piping systems including hydraulic, steam, lube oil, fire main, fresh water, high pressure air, nitrogen and nuclear piping systems. You will lay out, cut, bend, fabricate, test and assemble piping and other component parts for new piping systems or for the modification of existing piping systems. You will interpret drawings, sketches, and plans for fabrication, installation, repair, and modification of piping systems. You will demonstrate your knowledge of the proper materials to be used in a piping system and determine its compatibility with the design of the system. You will be responsible for layout of routing, placement, pitch, incline, and elevation of piping systems and associated equipment. You will test systems and equipment to ensure proper circulation, flow, pressure, and leak-free joints. You will install valves, gauges, or other component parts of piping systems. You will make necessary piping connections using valves and pressure regulators. You will connect various fixtures such as pumps, fittings, and tanks. You will use templates, targets and / or mock-up assemblies.
