Summary You will serve as a Program Specialist in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in the Technical Support Branch (Code 135.2) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. GS-11 Salary Range : $77,192- 100,344 GS-12 Salary Range : $92,520-120,282 Responsibilities You will serve as subject matter expert both technical and operational involving all non-destructive testing. You will advise and assist in the development and preparation of preventative maintenance instructions, procedures, technical specifications, and recommend modifications to improve testing process. You will advise on the development and preparation of Non-Destructive Testing instructions, procedures, technical specifications. You will be responsible for the planning and coordination of multiple complex shipyard Non-Destructive Testing technical projects. You will assist with establishing and carrying out audits, oversight, and surveillance for assigned Non-Destructive Testing methods. You will review official correspondence, formal technical reports, fact sheets, status reports, and schedules to verify product quality and complete assignments. You will analyze and evaluate inspection results to provide recommendations and subsequent training to increase overall program effectiveness. You will perform work on major nuclear and non-nuclear technical projects in support of naval surface ship and submarine maintenance. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-12 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : overseeing non-destructive testing (NDT) projects to ensure compliance with technical standards and program policies and evaluating and enhancing technical procedures and processes of NDT operations to increase or improve program effectiveness. GS-11 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : evaluating or monitoring procedures , analyzing technical requirements, recommending solutions to improve a non-destructive testing (NDT) program to improve training and accomplish project objectives. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience : GS-11 : Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
