Summary You will serve as a SHIPWRIGHT in the Production Department (Code 064) of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will construct staging for ship work and builds temporary wood supports, containments, and shorings of various kinds for vessels. You will build keel blocking, cradles, shoring, cribbing, and other structures to support ships in drydock. You will establish center lines, water and base lines, frame lines, degree lines, and other reference points aboard ships in locating, positioning, and installing hull parts, machinery, and fittings using trade equipment. You will perform various heavy and structural carpentry work in the repair or construction of ships. You will manufacture and repair wooden brows, landing platforms, and stairways. You will build various supporting structures for ships under construction. You will provide guidance and direction to Shipwright Workers, Helpers, and Apprentices.
