Summary You will serve as a SHIPYARD PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT in the Operations Department (300) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will manage, control and oversee the planning, engineering, production, and testing for the entire work package on the assigned project. You will assure that requirements for shipyard planning and production assets are integrated into the department and office schedules. You will determine the scope of the work package, evaluate the ability of the Production Resources Department to support the work package, and recommend modification of the work package. You will manage, monitor, control and oversee the project's budget and overtime for all direct and indirect labor work. You will assure that responsible codes take action to prepare for special facilities, tracks job order issuances, material availability, and work site arrangements. You will direct through project team members, line supervisors and subordinate staff, all productive and supportive work accomplishments for the project (including nuclear) and assures adherence to quality, cost, technical and schedule requirements. You will review cost and schedule performance reports to anticipate and / or initiate corrective action prior to exceeding budgets or failing to meet production schedules. You will manage a total work force of up to 1000 men / women per day. This includes assistant project superintendents, zone managers, and foremen. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing and providing guidance on production principles and practices for the planning of work packages on ship or submarine systems overhaul, repair or conversion projects in a shipyard environment. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Temporary promotions may be extended up to 5 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Temporary actions taken under this announcement may be made permanent without further competition. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and / or unusual duty hours may be required.
