Summary You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the Fleet Navy Communications System Coordinator Center (NCCC) of OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY. Responsibilities You will obtain highly technical NetOps information from diverse organizations, translate the information into layman terms as required, and provide NetOps assessments and recommendations to leadership. You will assess operational mission impact of communications systems outages and degradations and provide CS management. You will report and respond to Communications Systems outages in a timely manner. You will act as the single point of contact and facilitate meetings to report Pacific Fleet CS events to numerous entities. You will conduct thorough analysis of data derived from message reporting, emails, voice reports and web-based tools from diverse organizations. You will acquire situational awareness in order to assess operational mission impact of communications systems outages and degradations affecting afloat and shore commands. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying communications concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and respond to communication outages and / or degradations impacting the organization's mission. Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and / or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires rotating shift work. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement. Pay retention may be granted when certain conditions are met. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee.
