About the Role:
U.S. Pipe is seeking a Plant Reliability Engineer for our Pipe Casting Foundry in Lynchburg, Virginia. This facility is a heavy industrial manufacturing operation. The Plant Reliability Engineer works within the Maintenance Team to monitor, initiate repair, and develop improvement plans for equipment and assets that provide operational readiness to our production and business goals.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Monitoring critical equipment assets such as Hydraulic Systems, Pumps, Blowers, Gearboxes.
- Coordinating with Maintenance Superintendent and Planners on critical path repairs or predictive maintenance actions.
- Working with Maintenance Manager to develop equipment upgrade and asset protection plans.
- Locating, overseeing, and developing good working relationships with contractors and vendors who support our equipment reliability efforts.
- Tracking Maintenance metrics and identifying problematic issues to reduce unscheduled downtime.
- Implementing ideas and procedures to fortify equipment reliability and operational readiness.
- Investigating failure points using technical data collection and analysis and reporting findings in written presentation, defining root cause, and developing preventative plan and corrective measures.
- Immediately advises Leadership of any significant maintenance problems causing or having the potential to cause delays or shutdowns of operations and works expediently toward a resolution of the issues in combined effort with Maintenance team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional or CRE credentials through Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- ISO 18436-2 accredited in Vibration Analysis [CAT I, CAT II preferred]
- AutoCAD and Inventor experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
- Thermographic Inspection experience.
- Vibration Analysis experience.
- Ultrasound/sonic testing experience.
- Motion Amplification experience a plus.
- Oil Analysis/Tribology interpretation. ICML MLT certification
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- LEAN Manufacturing/OSHA Safety certifications are a plus.
