Job Description:
U.S. Pipe is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to join our team, focusing on coordinating and managing sales orders, production schedules, and customer deliveries within our U.S. Pipe Fabrication division. This role involves estimating and confirming delivery schedules for customer orders and quotes, ensuring efficient order fulfillment, coordinating with production and logistics teams, and maintaining accurate inventory and scheduling records to meet customer demands. The Planner/Scheduler will play a key role in streamlining operations and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Order Planning: Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements. Coordinate and schedule customer orders to align with production capacity and delivery timelines.
- Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules to optimize efficiency and meet sales commitments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, anticipate shortages, and work with procurement to ensure material availability. Ensure expected material receipt dates are correct and work orders are processed. Expedite foundry purchase orders when required.
- Customer Coordination: Communicate with Customer Service regarding order status, lead times, and delivery schedules/changes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Production, and Logistics teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and improve order flow.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate and analyze reports to track order progress, production efficiency, production capacity levels, and inventory levels.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve scheduling accuracy and efficiency in alignment with company objectives.
- System Maintenance: Utilize and update scheduling systems (ERP, or other tools) to ensure data accuracy and workflow efficiency.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all scheduling activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Requirements:
- Experience in customer service, scheduling, or supply chain coordination, preferably in the manufacturing or pipe industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with JDE or other ERP systems is a plus.
- A strong sense of urgency and a customer-focused mindset.
High School diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of two to four years of previous customer service or planning/scheduling experience desired.
