About the Role:
U.S. Pipe is seeking a House Paint Technician to join our team This position is part of a team which is responsible for the operation of the pipe coating machine to ensure quality coating of ductile iron pipe.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Operates electric magnet to transfer pipe as needed.
- Manually rolls pipe.
- Operates hydraulic lift to position a specified number of pipe per tier in each package.
- Places dunnage between tiers of pipe and secures bundle with strapping.
- Aligns pipe for package.
- Determines that package is made according to specifications.
- Selects and secures replacement pipe as required for completion of packages.
- Operates controls to remove packaged pipe from package station.
- Labels product and packages.
- Operates and makes adjustments to pipe coating machine to ensure quality coating.
- Cleans spray head, aligners, rollers, and other equipment when necessary.
- Repairs damaged cement lining if necessary.
- Removes foreign material from inside or outside of pipe if necessary.
- Brushes and removes surplus paint from bell of pipe and paints outside of pipe when necessary.
- Visually inspects all pipe to determine that each pipe meets the required specifications marking and recording scrap pipe, etc.
- Keeps work area clean and in an orderly condition and perform all work in accordance with plant and departmental rules and regulations.
Skills & Other Requirements:
- Must have a High School diploma or GED.
Salary : $21 - $28
