This position is responsible for monitoring and managing national inventories as well as forecasting sales and production levels for materials that are needed. This includes tracking inventory delivery performance and response time, as well as handling capacity planning and other logistics projects. U.S. Pipe is seeking a talented Planning and Supply Chain Manager in Birmingham, Alabama. This position is responsible for monitoring and managing national inventories as well as forecasting sales and production levels for materials that are needed. This includes tracking inventory delivery performance and response time, as well as handling capacity planning and other logistics projects. The role of Planning and Supply Chain Manager is critically important to the successful operation of our organization by meeting customer demand, increasing efficiency, decreasing waste, and lowering costs.
Specific Responsibilities
- Lead the Sales and Operations planning processes for all U.S. Pipe Business Units.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to create an efficient supply chain.
- Analyze market trends, demand forecasts, and business objectives to design effective strategies.
- Develop and maintain key metrics and dashboards that assist different areas of business including Commercial, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Oversee inventory control and manage stock levels to meet demand without overstocking.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service levels and cost efficiency.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Perform other duties as required by manager.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, General Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
- APCIS or similar certification preferred.
- Over 5 years of supply chain or similar experience.
- Proficiency in data analysis and knowledge of statistical tools.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, Intermediate to expert level excel skills, Exposure to ERP software, and BI Software.
- Well-developed math proficiency, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team situation.
- Well organized and demonstrate problem solving skills and ability.
