JOB PURPOSE:
To maintain and repair all heavy equipment and machinery in a safe manner while being Moderately supervised.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Power train component rebuild
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- High School Diploma and AND 3 Years of progressively responsible experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
- Must have experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
Must be able to handle a number of tasks at one time and work well with a variety of personalities in an effort to achieve continuous improvement.
