Maintenance Manager Role
The Maintenance Manager oversees the hourly workforce, guiding and organizing their activities in conjunction with supervisors. This role ensures plant operations run smoothly by maintaining equipment in satisfactory condition and controlling costs through effective planning and management. The Maintenance Manager collaborates with Corporate Engineering to develop and execute production activities outlined in the operation plan.
This position is responsible for implementing quality, health, safety, and environmental programs, ensuring training and maintenance are conducted as required. The Maintenance Manager also assists the Plant Manager in developing and executing capital and annual budget plans and performs administrative duties necessary to meet job goals, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
Essential Job Functions:
- Guides, organizes, and directs the hourly workforce.
- Ensures stationary and mobile equipment is operational within planned availability.
- Participates in long-term planning, including projects, process development, budgeting, and predictive/preventive maintenance activities.
- Trains and maintains quality, safety, environmental, and health programs, including audits and development activities.
- Schedules maintenance activities in conjunction with production to meet sales requirements.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in mining.
- Licensed Electrician or Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with Maintenance Programs like JD Edwards (SAP).
- Engineering background in manufacturing or equivalent experience as Operations Supervisor in mining.
- Able to multitask and work effectively with diverse personalities to achieve continuous improvement.
- 70% indoor and 30% outdoor work environment; must be physically able to navigate the plant, perform tasks such as climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and wear designated safety equipment.
- Exposed to routine industrial health and safety hazards and may be required to use respirator, ear protection, eye protection, safety shoes, hard hat, and other safety gear.
- Subject to callouts, phone calls, emails, and texts to provide guidance or assistance outside regular working hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Possesses a valid driver's license.
