What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator position at U.S. Silica?
Main Job Responsibilities :
- Conduct a proper work area exam
- Daily operation of the dredge
- Dredge preventative maintenance, fabrication of plant equipment, and general plant maintenance.
Additional Job Responsibilities :
- Lift up to 60lbs multiple times throughout the day.
- Team lift with a buddy heavier items.
- Climb ladders to access work areas. Wear fall protection where required.
- Exposure to heat / cold for long periods of time.
- Sit for long periods of time on the floating dredge.
- Safely operate a boat. (Embark / Disembark over water)
- Operate heavy equipment such as a skid steer and front end loader.
- Operate hand tools.
- Wear a respirator where required.
- Work in loud environments using hearing protection.
Please note :
The dredge operator role is run during daylight hours. The dredge is floating on the water and the dredge operator is required to sit in the cab 8-10 hours a day, including during lunch.
