Reporting to the Manager of Special Events, this position will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of best-in-class standalone U.S. Soccer events, both internal and external, as well as premium hospitality offerings and experiences at national team events.

Position Description
Reporting to the Manager of Special Events, this position will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of best-in-class standalone U.S. Soccer events, both internal and external, as well as premium hospitality offerings and experiences at national team events.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the coordination and implementation of over 20 internal and external U.S. Soccer special events including Annual General Meeting, SheBelieves Summit, Commercial Summit and National Soccer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
- Lead the organization and execution of community events and initiatives
- Continually scout, survey and source new event venues and vendors to foster long-standing relationships for the department
- Provide administrative support in the planning and execution of events, including invoice management, contract reviews, staffing plans, invitation tracking, ticket distribution, event recaps and reporting
- Collaborate occasionally with agencies and/or independent contractors in the planning and execution of select projects
- Foster relationships and collaborate with internal departments such as partnerships, development, marketing and fan experience to deliver on stakeholder expectations and needs through successful event execution
- Support the management of FanHQ and Block Parties by overseeing partner activations, communicating with stadium personnel, reviewing partner set-up requests, developing layouts and overseeing the events
- Coordinate and organize standalone partner activations through collaboration with the partnership marketing and event operations departments, and stadium personnel
- Support the organization of hospitality events and programs around key matches including securing location and vendor, managing invitations, décor and design, etc.
- Innovate and support the development of non-stadium events such as viewing parties, community engagements, city takeover activations and fan travel packages
- Conceptualize new event experiences that prove impactful for fans, partners and key stakeholders and that align with U.S. Soccer’s mission and objectives
- Support philanthropic campaigns to help bring awareness and or raise funds for different initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2 years of experience working in project management or event management
- Excellent organizational, planning and project management skill
- Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with management, staff, contractors, partners and the public
- Proven negotiating skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to develop professional relationships that result in consistent, reliable and courteous communication with stakeholders and vendors
- Operates efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow while delivering high quality work
- Takes action and shows initiative; Displays a can-do attitude
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Able and willing to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Able and willing to travel up to 50% of the year
- Able and willing to travel and work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends & holidays as necessary
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
