Position Description

The Director, College Soccer Services will drive the highest-impact college initiatives to consensus while managing relationships with college soccer coaches across the Division 1 to Division 3 level. The Director, College Soccer Services will work cross-functionally with the Soccer Growth, Strategy, Legal, and Commercial teams. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support and represent the interests of college soccer coaches and programs at the NCAA level, ensuring adequate representation and creation of policies to drive strategic decisions.
  • Facilitate communications between college coaches and key stakeholders in the ecosystem to help further information on rules, strategies, and opportunities for development.
  • Deliver high quality relationship management to college coaches, serving their needs and helping to move their agendas forward at the NCAA level.
  • Create feedback mechanisms to measure satisfaction rates among college coaches with the services provided and develop feedback loops and opportunities for improvement. 
  • Facilitate resource sharing between college coaches and U.S. Soccer to improve coaching strategies, player development, and program effectiveness. 
  • Establish relationships with peers, using network and secondary research to establish a set of best practices and strategies for college coaches to follow.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8-10 years professional experience, preferably in the sports, media, or entertainment industry
  • Excellent project management and relationship management skills
  • Proactive self-starter who can work independently and with ambiguity to drive towards set objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with senior executives both inside and outside the organization 
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and ability to apply learnings to create new opportunities 
  • Ability to spot issues and manage risk
  • Desire to be part of a team and drive continual growth of oneself and colleagues
  • Ability to manage and drive forward multiple projects while maintaining zero-defect attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

Desired Qualifications
  • Passion for the sport of soccer 
  • A strong understanding of college soccer landscape
  • Knowledge of Sports, Entertainment, Media and Technology industries
  • Prior experience working in the sports industry, non-profit, or national governing body
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and identify opportunities to support U.S. Soccer’s initiatives
  • Fluency both verbal and written in Spanish, or another language, is preferred
