Position Description
This position will lead the day-to-day execution of the U.S. Soccer Alumni Program, including overall program administration, stewardship, retired player recruitment, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and programs and events. This includes but is not limited to reporting, internal and external communications, tracking, benefit delivery, player cultivation and stewardship. In addition, this position will supervise the Senior Manager of Development Councils and Alumni Program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the U.S. Soccer Alumni Program, including program administration, stewardship, retired player recruitment, internal and external engagement and of stakeholders, programs and events.
- Strategically lead the engagement of the Alumni player and currently active player community both internally and externally.
- Develop, implement, and deliver monthly Alumni Program reports and measurables.
- Lead and ensure the delivery of scheduled communications to Alumni, including newsletters and engagement materials.
- Lead and execute Alumni Program events and convenings.
- Manage the U.S. Soccer relationship with the United States National Team Players Association (USNSTPA) and the U.S. Women’s National Team Players Association (USWNTPA).
- Manage the Alumni Program communication and engagement with the U.S. Soccer Athlete’s Council.
- Participate and engage in high-access donor experiences, attend special events, and support new Advancement initiatives.
- Collaborate cross departmentally in maintaining Sales Force, cataloguing relationships, participation and interests in U.S. Soccer development initiatives.
- Create opportunities to build a culture of gratitude.
- Provide best-in-class customer service support for U.S. Soccer donors and fans.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Supervisory experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanor
- Demonstrated ability to work on a team with a collaborative team environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs
- Up to 25% travel to matches and other programming related to the Alumni Program
- Flexibility to attend matches and events, nights and weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with alumni programs
- Knowledge of professional athletics
- Database management and experience with Salesforce
- Passion for soccer
