Position Description
The Senior Accountant supports the Finance department with all organizational financial needs, including significant involvement in the audit and tax processes, AP/AR processes, journal entry preparation and review, monthly financial reporting, expense reimbursements, and assisting with the management of the organization’s financial accounting system.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform accounting activities such as the input or review of journal entries, invoices, and account reconciliations
- Understand all sources of revenue in the organization to record required revenue recognition entries
- Supervise the closeout of national and international games
- Manage the accounts receivable process including invoicing clients, collecting payments, and managing the accounts receivable aging reporting
- Analyze and generate ad hoc reports
- Contributes to accounting decisions and discussions with research and communication
- Assists the Accounting Manager coordinating the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Assists with the maintenance of fixed asset ledger
- Supports the relationship between the Finance and Competitions Departments with regards to International Games closeouts
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and comfortability with journal entry debits and credits
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong verbal, written, and in-person communication skills
- Ability to execute under pressure and deadlines
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize workflow
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
