The Housekeepers are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas in our Space Camp Habitats. Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Clean and sanitize bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas in the Space Camp Habitats.
- Ensure all areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and are regularly inspected.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and ensure all rooms are ready for new campers.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and towels.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables properly.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate staff.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and report any need for repairs or replacements.
- Assist with laundry services as needed.
- Interact with campers and staff in a friendly and professional manner.

Qualifications
Required and Preferred Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred, especially in a residential or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items, bend, and stand for long periods.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing excellent service.
- This position has the following special requirements:
- Standing, walking, and climbing stairs for up to 8 hours.
- Carrying, and lifting supplies and items weighing up to 40 pounds to waist height.
- Bending, kneeling, reaching to store/retrieve supplies, cleaning high and low areas.
- Inspecting, visually and physically, areas for cleanliness.
- Working directly with cleaning chemicals such as bleach and floor strippers.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Environmental Factors
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Work takes place in a climate-controlled building environment.
- Work occurs in noisy and dusty areas.
- Work with dangerous and toxic cleaning products that can harm one's health if not properly utilized.
- Many cleaning materials give off noxious fumes and have powerful odors.
- If not handled properly, the cleaning materials can cause injury, sickness and/or skin irritation and rashes. In some cases, these products give off unpleasant odors.
- Work regularly involves cleaning up blood, saliva, and other bodily fluids.
