Meeting Planner Internship
U.S. Travel Association is seeking a passionate, hardworking intern to assist with meeting planning projects. U.S. Travel events include IPW, the world’s leading inbound travel trade show,
Destination Capitol Hill (DCH) a premier advocacy event for the travel industry, and Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations (ESTO) our annual learning and knowledge sharing forum for destination marketers. U.S. Travel is fast paced work environment, and we seek talented interns who crave learning new skills and aren't afraid to tackle their own projects. As an intern you will get to work with event operations, education and sales while working on real initiatives that will help us grow.
Your participation makes you part of an industry that views travel as essential. Our industry events are designed to help attendees make informed marketing decisions, meet face-to-face with thousands of international travel buyers and media, and champion travel's impact on the steps of City Hall and in the Halls of Congress. Our internship program is developed with you in mind! We will actively support your personal and professional development goals and provide training. At the end of a U.S. Travel internship, you will have a better understanding of the challenges of executing a successful trade show.
Interns Will:
- Work with the Events and Education department
- Receive training on various event technologies, procedures, and best practices
- Provide support to staff, and contribute to and manage projects
- Assist with aspects of the event planning process for our upcoming events including IPW, DCH and ESTO
Qualifications:
- A passion for event planning
- Possess a great attitude, work ethic; someone who is energetic, articulate, and personable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Able to work as part of a team
- Rising juniors and seniors, graduate students, or recent graduates
Interns must be available to work from the U.S. Travel office in Washington, D.C. office at least two days per week Tuesday-Thursday.
