Summary:

The Manager, Campaigns in the Public Affairs Department will oversee the project management, development and execution of integrated advocacy campaigns that advance U.S. Travel’s policy priorities. This role involves project management, campaign execution and tracking, stakeholder engagement, and reporting ensuring timely delivery of initiatives that enhance the travel industry’s voice in public policy discussions.

The U.S. Travel Association is the leading voice of the travel industry in the United States, advocating for policies that promote and grow travel to and within the United States. We collaborate with industry stakeholders, government agencies, the U.S. Congress and media outlets to ensure the travel sector remains a key driver of economic growth and cultural exchange.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Execution:
    • Coordination of comprehensive public affairs campaigns.
    • Collaborate with internal teams, including communications, policy, political and research, to align campaign goals and messaging.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful execution of multiple campaigns simultaneously.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external vendors, including consultants.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Serve as a liaison on campaigns for Public Affairs.
  • Content Development:
    • Draft campaign materials such as fact sheets, presentations, and reports.
  • Measurement and Reporting:
    • Track campaign performance metrics and create reports highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations for future efforts.
    • Align measured results with strategic objectives.

Education, Experience, and Skills: 

Five plus years of experience working for a public affairs firm, political campaign, advocacy organization, Congressional office or public affairs office for the federal government. 

Key Attributes:

Proven project management skills, political acumen, public affairs campaign experience, and a self-starter attitude that allows them to organize and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Other:

  • Position based in Washington, DC. U.S. Travel staff work in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. 
  • Limited travel (up to 2-3 times per year) is required.

  • Salary range: 70-90K
