About the Role
The role of the Patient Financial Representative is to provide customer financial support to all patients as well as interact as part of a team, consistently demonstrating respect and consideration to fellow staff members. Certain duties of the Patient Financial Representative may vary based upon business office need.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Call payers to obtain ASC and office procedure benefits and cost sharing
- Calculate patient out of pocket costs for office and ASC procedures based on their benefits
- Contact patients to inform them of their out-of-pocket costs
- Prepare and send Good Faith Estimates for Self-pay and out of network patients
- Research and return patients call when inquire about costs
- Research and respond to patent billing calls that patient balance vendor needs additional research/answer.
- Work monthly patient credit reports
This ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of patient/insurance AR and should have a good working knowledge of office and procedure patient billing. Because this candidate will be working directly with the patient, they should have a pleasant demeanor and patience in order to help the patients with their billings.
What We Expect from You
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- 2 years of medical financial experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems, EMR, HER, Clearing House, and Microsoft office.

Travel
