Position Profile
Reviews sales forecasts, product specifications, and production schedules to accurately determine raw material requirements for an organization. Ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Utilizes MRP system to coordinate materials from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Documents material details, including all codes, brands, and contact information necessary to process orders. Updates orders to account for remaining inventory or changes in production schedules.
Primary Responsibilities / Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service and communications:
o Utilize Smart Sheets, customer calls, Customer Service Representative, etc. to balance production schedule efficiency with customer needs / requirements with customer involvement and approval.
o Ensures customer needs and specifications are being met through evaluation and immediate reaction
o Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the inventory management operations and develop processes to enhance accuracy, turns and days on hand results.
o Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO) is achieved through detailed receiving procedures which require rotation at delivery and proper selection of ingredients and packaging at the time of production.
o Monitor receiving schedule of online appointments and compare to the PLEX Open PO Report to ensure delivery of ingredients and supplies required to fulfill planned production.
2. Process management:
o Lead or participate in additional projects as needed.
o Develop, implement, train, and enforce all policies and procedures surrounding the company’s inventory systems and inventory adjustments.
o Ensure the accurate recording and tracking of all inventory through Plex software.
o Maintain and utilize item production matrix to schedule based on allergens, limiting factors, inclusions and like product recipes.
o Enter production jobs into PLEX to support schedule and material orders.
o Responsible for updating/maintaining customer smart sheets prior to weekly meetings.
o Manage vendor relations, expectations and execution to ensure quality, cost controls and timely orders and deliveries.
3. Training and Development:
o Collaborate cross functionally to develop training materials and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent knowledge transfer.
o Partner with Production Manager to ensure that partial pallets of finished goods are identified and merged with new orders daily to eliminate potential losses due to aged inventory of finished goods.
o Ensure cycle counts are conducted, accurately updated and communicated to production managers so training is provided to team members as needed.

4. Process Improvement:
o Analyze current production processes to identify areas for efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
o Collaborate with production, maintenance and engineering teams to implement process enhancements and ensure they are scalable and sustainable.
o Keep up to date on inventory control best practices in order to educate staff and issue policy change.
o Planning and organizing production schedule to fulfill customer orders and required delivery dates while reducing changeover down time, adhering to allergen requirements and ensuring efficiencies of labor.
o Ensure the accurate recording and tracking of all inventory through Plex software.
5. Research and Innovation:
o Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and new ingredients that can be applied to waffle and pancake production.
o Lead or participate in additional projects as needed.
o Collaborate with marketing, and sales teams to align product development with market needs and customer preferences.
