What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at U.S. Waffle Company?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct timely audits of production process and finished products as stated in the QA SOP's. Ensure process and finished products are in compliance with all product specifications and regulatory compliance.
- Verify correct lot numbers are being used at the mixing stations and compare with Plex entries.
- Collect micro samples of product as required
- Responsible for retaining shift samples and evaluating.
- Communicate effectively any operational issues to production supervision and to QA Shift Lead for corrective action.
- Communicate effectively any food safety and food quality issues or operational issues to the QA Shift Lead and/or a member of management to initiate immediate corrections.
- Must follow all plant Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP's), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's) and Safety rules
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
- In the event the individual in this position is absent, the position is to be filled by the QA Shift Lead.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and all other food safety requirements.
- Complies with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) requirements.
- Reports any food safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to lead or supervisor.
- Constant walking and standing on hard concrete service.
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, lifting and climbing.
- Position will require working in very hot conditions.
- Other conditions include flour dust, wet floors, occasional smoke and fumes if product burns.
