What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Manager position at U.S. Waffle Company?
· Responsible for building a well-trained team which is passionate about safety, quality, efficiency, and company success
· Select, train and retain team members required to manage nightly sanitation functions during weekly line cleaning rotation.
· Responsible for the management and execution of additional sanitation functions in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Plant Manager.
· Completes post sanitation inspections and required testing to ensure all equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and prepared for production
· Perform Team Member performance evaluations as required
· Maintain Master Sanitation Schedule and Chemical Inventory
· Works closely with QA to ensure excellent conditions required to produce safe food products.
· Maintain vacation schedule and required time off for staff
· Ensure optimal staffing for the shift, track attendance, implement sanitation schedule and enter schedule in time system.
· Provides training and direction to direct reports to ensure efficient and effective execution of our sanitation programs.
· Meet or exceed company expectations for production performance to maximize sales
· Knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP, and other food process sanitation requirements
· Report any/all food safety or food quality issues immediately to supervision or QA
· Perform related duties as assigned by plant manager.
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
· Continually evaluate the status of sanitation related cleaning tools/equipment to ensure their sufficient supply, placement and functionality.
· Make recommendations, for budgeting purposes, to plant management on future equipment needs that are designed to constantly improve the plant’s sanitary status
· Properly utilize labor resources to improve efficiency, minimize labor expense and reduce waste
· Works closely with sanitation chemical supplier as it relates to SSOP’s, cleaning chemicals and equipment inspections.
· Continually evaluate the status of sanitation related cleaning tools/equipment to ensure their sufficient supply, placement, and functionality.
· Make recommendations, for budgeting purposes, to plant management on future equipment needs that are designed to constantly improve the plant sanitary status
· Ensure optimal staffing for the shift, track attendance, implement sanitation schedule and enter schedule in time system.
· Provide outstanding customer service to our partners
· Conducting sanitation inspections of the facility and participates in the annual review.
· Works closely (in conjunction with QA) with regulator inspectors such as FDA and SQF as it relates to plant audits and inspections

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Ability to read, write, and intermediate mathematical skills are required
· Must be willing to work every Sunday and overtime when needed
· Moderate mechanical aptitude is needed
· Previous experience managing 15 direct reports
· Working knowledge of HACCP/GMP/SSOP/Food Safety
· Previous high volume food service or food manufacturing experience
