What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sanitation Technician position at U.S. Waffle Company?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

o Assist production with breaks and lunches as needed.
o Meet or exceed company expectations for production performance to maximize sales
o Knowledge of SQF, GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP, and other food process sanitation requirements
o Report any/all food safety or food quality issues immediately to supervision or QA
o Perform related duties as assigned by sanitation lead or other leadership
o Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
o Ensures optimal staffing for the shifts, track attendance, and implement sanitation schedule.
o Maintains proper inventory levels of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
o Reports any/all food safety issues for immediate corrective actions.
o Maintains a positive working relationship with all departments within the manufacturing facility.
o Covers all electrical panels/outlets before washing
o Ensures that working lines are protected from overspray and cross contamination
o Cleans and sanitizes production areas as defined in department specific cleaning form,
o Removes machine parts (belts, rollers, guards etc) and takes to be cleaned and sanitized - reassembles once cleaned
o Ensures internal drains are clean and working
o Maintains plant cleanliness ( i.e., Empties scrap bins into compactor - cleans empty bins - cleans compactor area)
o Clean out of Place (COP) room - washes all bins, trays, machine parts - ensures that they are sanitized - air dry larger machine parts;
o Cleans other plant areas per master sanitation schedule;
o Uses motorized pallet jack, scissor lift, and fork lift to access or move equipment;
o Depositing and baling cardboard in appropriate baler for recycling.
o Depositing garbage in appropriate receptacles.
o Cleaning restrooms and breakroom.
o Safely working with a variety of chemicals.
o Notifying management of equipment that is not working properly.
o Rotates positions to learn the complexities of cleaning each piece of machinery;
o Performing other duties as assigned by sanitation lead or other management.
o Properly utilize labor resources to improve efficiency, minimize labor expense and reduce waste
o Rework all product as needed, do not waste product
o Notify production lead of any waste issues and/or machine malfunctions
o Clean up line continuously throughout shift
o Able to work extended hours, available for overtime and weekend work as required.

o Report any and all food safety or food quality issues to QA and Shift Supervision.
o Implement actions needed to prevent food safety and food quality issues
o Meet or exceed expectations of strict adherence to Quality Standards
o Coordinate with QA to ensure company quality SOP’s are adhered to.
o Demonstrate behaviors of a quality conscious culture.
o Ensure training is completed for your role and the roles of all team members in relationships to process and quality.
o Ensure customer specifications are being met through evaluation and immediate reaction
o Develop a culture of quality within the scope of their role.
o Monitor and ensure that all GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP are met at all times
o Ensure production floor is SQF ready EVERYDAY
o Follow all safety and OSHA policies and report any issues or violations immediately to a supervisor.
o Safety is first within our organization. Quality is the second most important aspect of your role.
o Prevent cross-contamination by following all policies and procedures

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· Must be willing to work weekends when needed
· Basic mathematical skills
*This position is responsible for ensuring that food safety is not compromised while meeting the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing and are responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
· Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and all other food safety requirements
· Complies with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s) requirements
· Reports any food safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to lead or supervisor
· Constant walking and standing on hard concrete service
· Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, lifting and climbing
· Position will require working in very hot and cold conditions
· Other conditions include flour dust, wet floors, occasional smoke and fumes if product burns
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
