Night Shift- 12 hours - 2, 2, 3 schedule

6:00 PM - 6:30 AM

General Purpose of the Job
Installs, maintains, adjusts, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems. Also, performs preventive maintenance to ensure optimum equipment operations. Position functions include, but are not limited to, those set forth below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects and tests machinery and equipment; makes adjustments and repairs as needed.
• Troubleshoots machines and equipment to detect malfunctions; discusses machine operating abilities with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment that needs fine adjustments and fabricate repairs as needed.
• Make adjustments to machines and equipment, so product conforms to quality standards.
• Dismantles defective machines or equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical or electronic components.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Lay out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure and appearance of facility.
• Capable of reading and troubleshooting PLC ladder logic and make simple edits to program.
• Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers.
• Sets up and operates machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, etc. to fabricate machine parts and repair equipment.
• Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join parts.
• Fabricates and repairs counters, platforms, working surfaces, partitions and other structures.
• May participate in Cost-down activities.
• Other tasks as required by Management
• Must be reliable in attendance and work successfully in a team environment.

Competencies

Must have strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of various robotic systems and controls. Able to troubleshoot various mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. Must have strong communication and training skills. Must have a basic understanding of environmental management and proper disposal of wastes. Must have a good understanding of handling glycol and waste oil as well as a good understanding of storm water pollution prevention and spill prevention and countermeasure control. Must have extensive knowledge with electric, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Background with blow molding and injection molding.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as general policies and procedures, technical procedures and/or equipment specs. Ability to speak effectively before small groups of people, including customers, vendors, managers, and associates.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point) and computerized equipment.

Other Skills and Abilities

1. Special Training in Maintenance and/or Robotics preferred.

1. Must be able to work overtime on short notice which includes holidays and weekends
2. Must hold and maintain current driver's license.
3. Must be able to travel to other Yachiyo American Region facilities.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to talk or hear at moderate to loud noise levels. The associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. May climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl to troubleshoot or install equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and color vision.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The performance of this position requires frequent exposure to the manufacturing areas that may require the use of personal protective equipment such as ear, eye, head and foot. Primary environment: cold or warm temperatures according to outside weather conditions.

Pay: $26.75 - $32.76 per hour
