U Street Parking – Shuttle Driver Job Description
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- No prior experience required – comprehensive on-the-job training provided
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
- A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required, including specific class and endorsement as needed for the role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience (1 year) as a passenger shuttle driver is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport passengers to and from designated airport locations and parking facilities
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the shuttle, including proper use of equipment for individuals with special needs (e.g., wheelchair lifts, tie-down systems)
- Load and unload luggage and assist passengers as needed
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to identify safety or maintenance concerns
- Clean and maintain the shuttle, both inside and out, including disinfecting after each trip
- Provide courteous and helpful customer service, including answering questions and offering directions
- Document any preexisting vehicle damage using an electronic device or manual ticket system
- Implement and uphold shuttle evacuation procedures as needed
- Promptly report any incidents, accidents, or claims to the Operations Manager or Shift Supervisor
- Refuel shuttle vehicles and maintain accurate fuel logs
