As a Field Service Engineer supporting the Field Service Engineer Family, you will be trusted to work on providing technical advice to customers including commissioning, installing, and testing of products/equipment in Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. In this role, a typical day will include:

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, retrofits, upgrades and system installations.
• Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Promptly address customer concerns, quality assurance and medical safety issues.
• Manage daily schedule while maintaining proper and timely communications with customers, dispatch, managers, regional and cross-functional teams.
• Complete and submit all required paperwork on time and accurately.
• Assist Sales Team, Clinical Team and other Field Engineers as needed.
• Manage inventory, keep accurate records, and return unused and failed parts promptly.
• Promote service contract offerings and assist Inside Sales Specialist in selling service agreements to customers within your assigned territory.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 3 Years of Relevant Experience

HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:

• Collaborate with teammates to share standard methodologies and findings as work evolves.
• Candidates must have the ability to work independently from home office 20% and in the field 80% -- traveling within the assigned region and occasional overnight stays.
• Please note that neither sponsorship nor relocation is available for this role.
• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime on short notice.  Position requires the ability to be “on call” after normal working hours
• Strong electronic/electrical and mechanical background
• Ability to lift 50 pounds. This would be to include tools, replacement parts, etc.
• Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain Alcon’s client site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to: Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN) Criminal background checks Drug screens Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus) Annual TB testing Healthcare trainings
