JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE : Summer School Principal @ Fawn Mountain
REPORTS TO : Superintendent
JOB PURPOSE : Provide educational leadership, supervision, and effective management of the school.
SUPERVISES : Certified staff, classified staff, other personnel functioning in the school.
Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
- Assist the Superintendent in the direction, administration and coordination of the district’s educational programs and district policies.
- Maintain continuous supervision, appraisal, and evaluation of the staff and the educational program.
- Provide educational leadership in the development of curriculum, school improvement initiatives, staff development, and improvement of instruction. Have experience and success with SEL, RTI, and Blended learning as part of the instructional program.
- Monitor the building’s special education program and implementation of students’ Individualized Educational Programs (I.E.P.).
- Coordinate the activities of the personnel within the school directly concerned with the instructional program including but not limited to : teachers, counselors, specialists, non-certified employees.
- Foster good interpersonal relations with students, staff, and parents.
- Plan, organize, and direct all school activities, including extracurricular.
- Maintain, control, and disburse to the central office in accordance with district practice the various funds generated by the school.
- Hold faculty and other meetings as necessary for the efficient functioning of the school. Prepare and implement an effective system of communications to provide information to, from and between staff. Have experience planning and implementing professional development aimed at improving instructional programs.
- Actively participate in the selection and assignment of personnel in the school through the screening and interviewing of candidates, and recommend personnel for hire to the superintendent.
- Coordinate the activities of personnel from other offices, including but not limited to maintenance personnel, custodial staff, and food services.
- Be available to staff and parents for conferences, and be an active participant when needed.
- Provide for the proper and best use of the school plant by initiating requests for maintenance repairs, and proposals for improvement.
- Supervise the filing to the district office of information in accordance with state statutes, board policy, and administrative regulations.
- Develop and submit a school budget in accordance with the established guidelines.
- Attend School Board meetings and prepare such reports as the Superintendent may request.
- Develop and maintain a continuous program of public relations by which the educational program may be clearly interpreted.
- Coordinate with district personnel, community, and related groups all activities held within the high school.
- Coordinate activities regarding knowledge and applications of proper safety procedures within and around the school facilities. Have experience and knowledge implementing a school-wide safety plan.
- Maintain standards necessary for continued accreditation by the Northwest Accreditation Association.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the superintendent.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, State and Federal Grants, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, board members, and community members.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
