ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR-DOM

Position Summary
- To direct the administrative and operational affairs of a functional area and speaks on its behalf.
- To operate with a high degree of independence.
- To oversee and analyze/forecast content and administration of respective area.
- To establish objectives, manage fiscal activities, and supervise and direct staff, where applicable.
- To prepare and present various reports.
- To assist with strategic planning in functional areas, including but not limited to Communications, Research Operations, Finance, Facilities, etc
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Serves as administrative director for functional area. Provides guidance and support for the
- assigned area and administrative support staff, if appropriate. Leads administrative efforts for area
- related to faculty recruitment/hires/terminations as well as staff recruitment/hires/terminations, as
- applicable. Functional areas assigned may also include, but not limited to Communications,
- Research Operations, Finance, etc.
- Serves as key member of leadership team, responsible for maintaining the overall success of
- functional area and for addressing challenges and issues that arise. May be responsible for leading
- strategic initiatives in research administration, finance, facilities and/or communications.
- Assists Division and/or Department Leadership in achieving goals/priorities. Coordinates the
- execution of strategic and operational initiatives of critical importance as identified by Department
- and/or Division Leadership. Identifies gaps in processes and/or operations to achieve objectives.
- Assists the Department and/or Division(s) in facilitating effective and timely decision-making by
- coordinating communication between senior leadership and individuals throughout the organization and/or external stakeholders.
- May assist and support Chair's Office
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Finance, Business or a related field.
- Candidates must meet minimum qualifications.
- Minimum qualifications- 5-7 years of experience in Finance and grant management, specifically post-award grant management.
- Financial management and personnel leadership
- Budget oversight and workforce administration
- Fiscal planning
- Analytic skills
- Conflict resolution skills
- Team management expertise
- Effective communicator
- Preferred skills - Oracle, Lawson and Axiom experience.
Salary Range: $67,070 - $108,990
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Public Administration or a related field
- And five (5) years of related experience required
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
