What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at UAB Health System?
The Maintenance Technician shall be fully qualified in the repair and installation of heating, air conditioning, ventilating, plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment. He or she shall be familiar with preventive maintenance programs. Must be familiar with building structure to the extent that any problem in any of these areas can be successfully handled without dependency on supervisor.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Previous plumbing experience preferred
- Ability to run a drain snake on sinks and toilets
- Must be able to lift heavy weights
- Must be willing to take call on a rotating basis
- A minimum of two years' experience in the technical aspect of heating, air conditioning, ventilating, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment preferred
- HVAC certification preferred
- Must be able to lift heavy weights
