What are the responsibilities and job description for the PATIENT ACCOUNTS REPRESENTATIVE II (3) position at UAB Health System?
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a PATIENT ACCOUNTS REPRESENTATIVE II to perform duties related to processing patient accounts such as identifying delinquent accounts, counseling patients, handling Chapters 7 and 13 bankruptcy notices, processing returned checks, initiating and auditing monthly statements, processing charge tickets and insurance claims and preparing various reports. Sets up new patient accounts and performs data entry of charges, payments and adjustments. Prepares and submits bills for payment. May balance and post collected money. Works to resolve insurance denials with insurance companies. Monitors outstanding claims.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provide customer service to patients regarding account related issues.
- Front desk patient registration.
- Set up new patient accounts via practice management software.
- Performs data entry of payments and daily payment reconciliation.
High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required.
