What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Pharmacist position at UAB Health System?
UAB Callahan Eye is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to work in our Pharmacy Department. The Pharmacist performs a variety of duties, which require special skills and knowledge in the various aspects of hospital pharmacy. A primary function of this position is the preparation, distribution, and control of medications that are used within the hospital and/or dispensed for use outside the hospital. Other responsibilities include those related to drug information, inventory control, and supervision of ancillary pharmacy personnel.
General Responsibilities
- Provides quality patient care for the needs of the populations served and age specific groups as indicated: pediatric (>1 - 12 years), adolescent (>12 - 17 years), adult (>17 - 65 years), and geriatric (>65 years).
- Ability to take calls during pharmacy after hours.
- Ability to work rotating weekends.
Requirements
- Current pharmacy license in the State of Alabama with no record of licensure revocation or suspension.
- At least one-year hospital experience preferred.
- BLS certification required by the end of employee provisional period.
- Must maintain required certifications.
