About the Role:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the 9 MedSurg unit at UAB Medical West, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to individuals recovering from surgery or managing acute medical conditions. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patient needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and monitor patient progress to ensure optimal recovery outcomes. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each patient's unique situation. Additionally, you will educate patients and their families about health management and post-discharge care, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery. Ultimately, your contributions will directly impact patient satisfaction and the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team.
SIGN ON BONUS: $10,000
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must obtain within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a MedSurg or acute care setting.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
