Schedule: Monday-Friday Day Shift

Under general supervision and according to UAHSF established policies and procedures provide specialized support services to Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes. Responsible for answering phones received by Peds Endocrinology and Diabetes clinic, office, and clinical support as well as faxes from referring physicians. Schedules and serves as a coordinator for patient appointments for all providers, specialty clinics, locations, and services. Must cultivate extensive knowledge of all providers’ templates and scheduling protocol. Must demonstrate knowledge of patient conditions and the ability to communicate with them effectively. May be requested to perform appointment reminder calls, schedule, cancel and I or reschedule patients in certain circumstances. Request and coordinate referrals and work the waiting list to expedite appointments for patients if needed.
Position Requirements:
Required: Required: High School Diploma and 5 years of working in a healthcare setting. At least 3 years of scheduling, clerical or managerial experience. College degree may substitute for experience.
Must 1) be able to type a minimum of 30-40 words per minute or enter 6,000 keystrokes per hour; 2) be familiar with a Windows environment; 3) be able to perform basic math skills; and 4) possess exceptional telephone and customer service skills.
Preferred: Medical office experience and scheduling experience preferred
