Job Description:
To perform duties in the pharmacy department that do not require a licensed professional including processing and delivering medication, ordering and issuing products and receiving and ordering supplies. May be required to prepare sterile products.
In this role, you will work in collaboration with physicians, clinic staff, and pharmacists to provide excellent patient care for our primary care patients. Duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Assist the Refill Center pharmacists in performing their roles to refill medications for primary care patients
- Ensure accurate and efficient refill processing
- Onboard patients into the refill program
- Assist with patient communication
- Assist with gathering patient history information
- Provide constant communication with pharmacists on patient care and protocol items
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualities:
- Experience working in an ambulatory care setting
- Excellent teamwork skills
- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in typing
High School diploma or GED required. Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire.
