What are the responsibilities and job description for the Armed Security Officer position at UAB St. Vincent's?
We Are Hiring

- Schedule: Various Shifts
- Hospital: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham - Downtown
- Location: Birmingham, AL
2 years of security, police officer, military or corrections officer preferred.
What You Will Do
Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
- Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
- Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
- Maintain knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
- Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- In state (Alabama) concealed carry weapons permit required.
One or more of the following are preferred:
- Drivers License credentialed from the Alabama Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Security Professional.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
