What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Technologist CST - OrthoSports position at UAB St. Vincent's?
We Are Hiring
- Sign-on bonus: Up to $6000.00
- Department: Ortho Surgery
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, shifts start at 6:00am. You can pick between 8 hours or 10 hours shifts. Call is required.
- Hospital: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham
- Location: Birmingham, AL
Surgical Tech Certification required. We offer great pay and free parking!
What You Will Do
Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instruments counts throughout procedures.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required:
- Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
