What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technologist - ST position at UAB St.Vincent's?
We Are Hiring
- Sign-on bonus: Up to $6000.00
- Department: Surgery
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, shifts start at 6:00am. 12, 10 or 8 hour shifts available. Holiday, weekend and evening call required. 2 weekdays and 1 weekend day per month.
- Hospital: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham
- Location: Birmingham, AL
Must have surgical tech experience
What You Will Do
Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
- Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
