Appliance Tech - Boston Metro Area - Great Pay & Benefits
We are looking for 2-3 experienced appliance repair technicians in Boston Metro area. We are a Whirlpool exclusive service provider and only work on Whirlpool manufactured brands. No other brands. Diamond operates in Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, SW Michigan, and Boston Metro. We have 100 technicians and are excited to established in the Greater Boston Area. Refrigeration experience is a plus and we also pay more for that experience We do not micro-manage our techs, so we are looking for self-motivated individuals, if you have a knack for troubleshooting, and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. Ideally, you have proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers. Our ownership group has vast appliance service experience and were previous techs. We understand what techs need and want.
- Needs to be personable and able to work with customers in their home.
- Technical background and aptitude. Know how to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Ability to learn new skills.
- Self-starter and good work ethic is a must.
- Must pass background, driving and drug screening.
- Accurately diagnose and repair appliances / equipment in the customer's home
- Provide cost estimates for repairs / installations and collect payment and / or payment information from customers for work performed
- Ensure the efficient use of materials and keep company vehicle and equipment properly serviced
- Complete invoices, daily route sheets, and weekly reports as required
- Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License with a clean record
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Proficiency to navigate tablet-based technology
- The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
- Flexible and variable hours. Weekends are not mandatory
- 24 to $30hr

Compensation : $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
As an appliance repair technician, you'll work with anything from dishwashers to microwaves to dryers. In other words, you'll need to be fairly knowledgeable about large appliances, portable appliances, mechanical work, as well as electrical work.
You'll deal with more than just appliances, though, as a repair technician, you'll have to deal with people, too.
Appliance repair technicians must also have skills in high mechanical aptitude, have impeccable written and verbal communication skills, work adeptly with repair tools, be okay with lifting heavy machinery, and of course, be incredibly skilled in troubleshooting problems.
