Application Developer

UASI is an industry leader with more than 40 years in the Healthcare Industry. We provide full-service solutions for coding, health information management (HIM), clinical documentation and revenue integrity. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio we are seeking a mid to senior level Software Developer to join our Information Technology team.

The company has applications that are at the core of our business and provide the same solution to our partners as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). As the company grows, we are continuously developing new applications and enhancing existing applications with new features and functionality, with the intention of improving the capabilities, efficiency, and user experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Leads and performs assigned programming tasks related to new development or maintenance on assigned applications, including analysis, project estimating, design, development/coding, testing, and documentation.
• Analyzes user needs and impact to other site areas to determine technical requirements of assigned tasks.
• Promotes strong quality practices by performing unit testing and providing appropriate level of support for user acceptance testing, as needed.
• Maintains accurate technical documentation for assigned programming projects.
• Acts as a support resource for the technical support staff to ensure that customer-reported issues are being addressed in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Develops and maintains a solid understanding of the technology tools and trends and remains current in new technology developments and their potential impact on the department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Mentors other developers, providing code reviews and knowledge/career growth.

Job Qualifications

Experience & Education

• 3-5 years of full-time development experience in a corporate environment.
• Expertise in modern relational database systems (MSSQL, Postgres, MySQL, etc) and the development of highly efficient and complex queries/stored procedures.
• Fundamental understanding of Object-Oriented Programming.
• Demonstrated experience in leading projects and effectively implementing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Frontend and backend web development experience. (React, Django, .NET preferred).
• Experience with relational databases in a multi-tier environment.
• Understanding of modern source control practices (GitHub/Bitbucket) within an enterprise application.
• Demonstrated experience building AI-driven apps and using AI to improve development experience.
• Proficiency in working with secure, publicly available web applications.
• Cloud deployment experience with Azure preferred.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred, including knowledge of HIPAA, FHIR, and EDI files.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a similar field. In lieu of a degree, a combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
